Rose and Lisa,Welcome to the list. I can honestly say this is the best list I've ever been on and I've been here a couple of years now. Hard to believe I've been on the list that long! Whew...I'm getting old.
I live in Northern Minnesota about an hour North of Minneapolis. If folks can stand the snow and cold I can say there are some pretty good land deals here in MN too. Especially if you go North to the farm lands.
I presently have 3 adult Saanen does, 1 adult Alpine doe and 3 Saanen doe kids (one is a week old), one adult Saanen buck...well almost an adult....a week old Saanen buck kid and 3 wethers soon to be freezer meat......lets see...that makes 12! I also have 7 sheep that are raised mostly for their handspinning wool. We also have 3 horses, 15 chickens, 2 cats, 1 dog...and an abundance of wildlife that my husband and son hunt and trap. Lots of bear sign this fall. Thankfully they have never bothered our animals. We are former yuppies from Seattle that have been doing the homestead life for about 7 years. I used to be a suit wearing, high heal clicking gal that sent my children to daycare while I worked at a stock brokerage firm. Now, I'm a jumper wearin', goat milkin', wool spinnin', homeschoolin' mom and I love it!....Deanna
