Perhaps you don’t drift the way that I do, but I constantly forget the deep hole of depravity from which the Lord’s mighty love rescued me. Drifting does not take any effort at all; just stop cultivating the knowledge of Christ, and the evil current of secularism does the rest. All passion for the lost seems increasingly a fading memory. Jesus weeping over Jerusalem, Paul willing to be cursed for the sake of his countrymen, those things become very remote to the point of being unreal.

This is just a quick note!  We're having a very lovely and productive first week of school at the Knowles house.  I'll say more on Sunday in my tidbits!
 
Many of you are probably wondering where to order all of the supplies you need for science.  We order from Home Training Tools (http://www.hometrainingtools.com), and have found them to be a great source.  They have curriculum from Apologia, Bob Jones, Alpha Omega, Castle Heights, Eagle's Wings, Media Angels, Lyrical Learning and other publishers.   But the best part is that you can order either a basic supply kit or individual items to match each grade level of Apologia, BJU, Alpha Omega, A Beka and Christian Light.   You can also find quality microscopes, dissection specimens, fun exploration style science kits, Moody Science videos and more.   Prices are generally discounted, though HTT doesn't offer any free shipping options like some companies.  If an item is backordered, they will ship the rest of the order right away at no extra cost.

For middle school and high school science curriculum, our family likes Apologia by Dr. Jay Wile.  We already have Apologia General Science, Biology, and Anatomy.  We just ordered the Physical Science because Rachel opted not to use BJU, which I fortunately bought used.  She says Apologia is much more interesting.  It is also written specifically for home school families, so it is easy for non-trained parents and students to implement in the home setting.   You can check out their web site, which includes articles and other helpful resources, at  http://www.highschoolscience.com/ or order their stuff from Home Training Tools or other suppliers.  Dr. Wile has a real heart for home school families, and is very responsive to questions and concerns.
