Secrets of Heathersleigh Hall Series

Posted by: Blc914 <Blc914@...>

I read the first book of this series by Michael Phillips about a week ago.
Then I moved onto Vol. 2 and read it over the last week -- would have read it
faster, but I was too busy with other things! Yesterday afternoon was a
soft, quiet, slow, restful afternoon and I finished Book 2 and started Book 3
(which I finished last night!). And I am peeved that I don't have Book 4
(the final volume of the series!) My mom actually owns these and I have no
idea how she read the 1st 3 and did not immediately buy the 4th one! I will
have it a.s.a.p.!

I really enjoyed this series -- much to my surprise! Phillips combines fact
and fiction beautifully. While I thoroughly am enjoying the saga of the
Rutherford family and their many spiritual trials, I am also enjoying
learning about the history, politics, theology and current events of the time
period. The first book starts at the time of Queen Victoria's Diamond
Jubilee and the 3rd book ends in 1915. WWI plays a huge role in this series.

For those who are not big fiction fans, these may be the books for you! While
the main story is fiction, it is rooted in much fact!

Here are the books in the series -- in order --

Wild Grows the Heather in Devon
Wayward Winds
Heathersleigh Homecoming
A New Dawn Over Devon
