INTRODUCING THE MEMORY VERSE BLOG

I always choose a memory verse for our church family to work on. This year I am including a brief blurb about the Scripture being memorized in our bulletin. I am also posting these on line for those who would like to work on memorizing the Scriptures. I will add additional comments as the Lord leads.

The Memory Verse Blog is an effort to help people memorize, meditate, and understand the Scriptures. Each week a new verse is given for memorization and meditation. At least one brief blog, commenting on the verse, will be posted. The theme in 2010 is "Being Conformed to Christ's Likeness." If you would like to know more, visit http://memoryverseblog.blogspot.com/

NEW YEAR’S ACROSTIC

N – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

E – Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4

W – Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Mark 13:35-37

Y – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

E – Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalms 127:1

A – Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

R – Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecclesiastes 12:1 – Pastor Jack Peters

You may preach this as a sermon or use it in a church bulletin or newsletter. If you print it, please leave my name at the end as the source.  Thanks!
