For the first time in the history of my letters, I am intentionally delaying a letter to you. I do hope you'll understand. It is well past Midnight Sunday as I sit on my bed writing here in Karlovac, Croatia. I'm fumbling around in the dark with only the light of the computer screen, as Jo Ann tries to sleep. We pack up and head to Vienna as we begin our journey home after four incredible weeks in Bosnia and Croatia.
Three things have caused me to make this decision to postpone my letter to you:
1. My mind is extremely tired, and also, frankly, overwhelmed by what has happened these past few weeks. I need time to clear my mind, get some rest, and then try to assemble my thoughts to you.
2. God has spoken so clearly and so intently regarding what I want to write about that I must be fresh, alert, and sensitive to the Holy Spirit in order to clearly articulate what I want to say to you about the matter. It is my intent to continue writing about prevailing prayer. However, what I have seen and heard regarding miraculous events in the Balkans before, during, and after the war, which are all attributed to aggressive intercession by both local and international prayer teams, has simply overwhelmed me. I must have some fresh hours to put it all in perspective. What I have seen and heard is mind boggling. You deserve my being at my best, and right now I am not.
3. My mailing list service provider has recently moved and the new system he is using is undergoing some corrections that may affect the distribution of my letter. So, it would also be prudent to perhaps delay my letter a day or two. It may be as late as Wednesday before you get it.
Having said all that, I just couldn't bear the thought of missing my appointment with you. I wanted you to know I hadn't forgotten you, and I do indeed pray that God is blessing you in exactly the way you need to be blessed. He is such a good God. Enjoy His love and provision today, and I'll look forward to chatting in a day or two.
How I wish you could have been with me on this trip. It was absolutely astounding.
You might be interested in knowing that we have been invited to return both this Fall and also next Spring. We will most probably do so at least one of those times and perhaps both, in addition to our annual Summer trip with our teams. Both Bosnia and Croatia are on the docket for all three possible trips . . . . including Sarajevo, Mostar, Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Karlovac, Zagreb, Osijek, and perhaps other sites.
As we look at that possibility, we are seriously considering bringing a prayer walking team and also a construction team with us. If you would pray about being on one of those teams, please drop me a line right away. And, of course, we can always use members on our June team.
Have a great week. Again forgive me for not being able to write right now. I will shortly, however.
In His Bond and For His Kingdom,
Bob Tolliver ---- (Rom 1:11-12)
