by J. Randal MathenyThe Lord put lights in heaven's expanse,
For signs and seasons, days and years;
The moon and sun and stars advance,
We ponder as the new hour nears.What wonders does the new year hold?
What trials or joys, what time of tears?
What hopes that died as new turned old,
May kindle when Oh-Eight appears?Whatever good or ill befell,
Whatever our new year may bring,
Our hearts with thanksgiving will swell
When we remember our coming King.1. Your feedback is important -- strike that
