Silent Heaven
by J. Randal Matheny © 2015

Silent heaven — not because
The Lord ignores us — We fail to call
Upon his name as He instructs —
"If I am Lord, then do my will."

He whispers not — clear as the summer
Sun is bright, his words are strong —
For doers loud approval rings —
For more than talk God has full lungs.

The origami of empty words
And trumpets on the corner blaring,
Ne'er turn his head, nor catch his ear —
God's tearful silence is deafening.
