by J. Randal MathenyTo sleep, to dream, for cares to drift away,
A bed for rest restores the rattled soul.
To leave behind the troubles of the day,
The cooling night renews the sighted goal.Surrender's sweet to close the eyes at night,
To breathe more slowly, deeply from the breast,
Sinking slowly far from conscious height,
Descending where the spirit's but a guest.Succumbing quickly to the body's slumber,
The busy mind discovers full release
>From heavy, hapless burdens that encumber,
And finds in its repose a fitting peace. The body, mind and heart's nocturnal gown
Prepares the man to wear the morning's crown.1. Share your thoughts with us! Click "Reply,"
