So Many Books...

Hi everyone!I'm taking a few minutes to pop my head in here... I seem to be the minority
since most of my reading is non-fiction!! ;-o I am the main purchaser of
books for our rather large church library (I love that job!) and I'm the
"non-fiction specialist" on the library staff. I do read a fiction book a
few times a year, and while I think some of them can really help you grow in
your faith, I prefer stuff that has a more direct impact on my life - just my
opinion!Books I'm working on now:
Called to Greatness by Ron Hutchcraft - about taking people to heaven with
you - witnessing to others and making a difference for eternityFeathers in My Nest by Beth Moore - reflections from an empty nest. And
since hubby and I are newly empty-nested (but still in close contact with our
recently-married daughter and two girls in college), it's a great one!The Narrow Road by Brother Andrew and Jars of Clay - Brother Andrew's
autobiography about smuggling Bibles into China and stories of people bold
enough to go into China and risk their lives for the Cause of Christ.LifeChange Bible Study - ACTS - I'm mentoring a gal who really wanted to read
the book of Acts. So we're just on Acts 2, but very much enjoying! I have a
lot of Bible Reference books that I love to dig into.Praying God's Will for your Life by Stormie Omartian - I haven't actually
started this one yet - just bought it. I just finished Robert Jeffress
"Hearing the Master's Voice" about discerning God's will, which was
fascinating.Prayer That Works by Jill Briscoe - she's an amazing writer. Prayer is
another topic I want to read a lot of books on.Favorite books I read in the past year:
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom - LIFECHANGING!
The Contemplative Mom: Restoring Rich Relationship with God in the Midst of
Motherhood by Ann KroekerIf You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat
by John OrtbergHaving a Mary Heart in a Martha World : Finding Intimacy With God in the
Busyness of Life
by Joanna WeaverHow to Keep a Spiritual Journal : A Guide to Journal Keeping for Inner Growth
and Personal Recovery
by Ronald KlugA Place of Quiet Rest : Finding Intimacy With God Through a Daily Devotional
Life
by Nancy Leigh DeMossMy favorite devotionals are Streams in the Desert, My Utmost for His Highest,
Whispers of His Power (Amy Carmichael).Hope to hear from some of you "closet" non-fiction readers! ;-o
Going back to my books...
