South African AIDS Orphans Choir performs near Orlando this Friday evening

Posted by: homenews <homenews@...>

Dear Hope Chest friends,

As you know, I wrote an article on African orphans in the last Hope
Chest. I just received word that the South African AIDS orphans choir
will be performing near Orlando this Friday evening. This incredibly
talented choir has performed in worship services in some of the largest
churches in the United States. If you live in the area, this would be a
great followup opportunity for opening your children's eyes to the needs
of African orphans. If you would like to be involved financially,
response cards will be handed out at the event for sponsorship of
children.

This free concert, which is sponsored by Northland Church, will be held
at 7:30 PM at the Lyman High School auditorium. The school is on Ronald
Reagan Blvd (SR 427) just north of Dog Track Road. (This is down the
street and around the corner from Northland's main campus.) Children are
welcome, but no childcare is provided. For more information, call Mike
Henderson, 407-619-3482. Northland's web site is
http://www.northlandcc.net/ but I couldn't find any concert information
there. I got my notice by e-mail from Joel Hunter, Northland's senior
pastor who performed our wedding ceremony nearly 20 years ago.

Also, Northland will be worshiping with Christians from Ukraine this
weekend via satellite link. This event will be experienced in some form
in all of the services, at all of Northland's locations. To my
knowledge, Northland is the only church in the world that is doing this
sort of thing.

Blessings,
Virginia Knowles
