Stop And Think!

Hi All, Here is a revival message I preached in May of '92. Use what you can for God's glory. Brethren, please pray for my family and I. I go in view of a call to First Baptist Church in Mortons Gap, Ky on June 22nd. Please pray that the Lord will give direction and guidance and make HIS WILL known. God bless you all!
IN Christ,
Brother Bryan L. Browning
"Stop And Think!"
Isaiah 1:16-20
INTRO. We make many decisions in just one 24-hour period of time. But I believe one of the most important decisions we will ever make, that many leave unmade until it is too late, is Salvation. It is a decision of vital importance because it deals with our eternal destiny!
This life we have from God is a precious life, but it is also an uncertain life. We don't know when this life will be required of us. The Scripture tells us, in James 4:14, "Whereas ye know not what shall be the on morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
I believe many people in hell probably had good intentions. They were going to accept Jesus as Savior before they died, but their life ended before they made that decision, because of the uncertainty of life. I can't promise you that you or I will be alive tomorrow. That is in Gods Hands.
But if you don't know Him as Savior tonight, you have a important decision to make! I want to ask you a question, "What is keeping you from accepting Him as your Savior?" All the things you think so important are nothing, if you don't have Him as LORD and Savior!
Child of God, I ask you, Stop and Think, "Are you doing things in your life that count for Christ?" Billy Graham, the noted evangelist, coined a phrase that says, "Only one life twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will Last."
STOP AND THINK:
(1) We All Are More Wicked Than We Think
Isaiah 64:6
*WHY?:
A. We reject Jesus (John 5:40; Jeremiah 8:5).
B. We fail to win others to Jesus (Psalms 107:2; Proverbs 11:30).
C. We are closer to death than we think (Proverbs 27:1).
(2) We All Are More Responsible to God Than We Think
Hebrews 9:27; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
*BECAUSE OF OUR:
A. Treatment Of God's Church (Hebrews 10:25).
B. Treatment of God's Word (2 Timothy 2:15).
C. Treatment of God's Day (Psalms 118:24).
(3) We All Are Richer Than We Think When we Know Jesus
Revelation 2:9
*In Rev. 2:9, Christ the Church Of Smyrna, tells "I know thy works , and tribulation, and poverty but (thou art rich!) "
*Riches From God:
A. Eternal Life (John 10:28; 1 John 5:11-13).
B. Eternal Home (John 14:1-3).
C. Eternal Fellowship (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
Matthew 6:19-20Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven
(4) The Wicked Are Closer To Hell Than They Think
Luke 12:16-20
CLOSING: Do you need to stop and think about God and the Things of God?
This old world with its troubles and cares often takes our thoughts away from the things that really matters.
Is there one lost here tonight? If so, Christ is making an appeal to you, "Come now, let us reason together though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (v18).
God wants to save you tonight, Will you heed His call to you??
Christian, stop and think, Are you serving God with all you are
and all you have?
