straight to house PA

Alright - for all you acoustic players out there, I need a bit of
advice.I play acoustic fingerstyle stuff, and use either my Taylor NS72
(nylon) or my Taylor 614ce-ltd (steel) in church when I play. I
currently have a Fender Acoustasonic SFX that I play through, and it is
mic'd to the house system. Our house PA is what I would describe as
"medium quality", and we've got one guy who is working hard to learn
how to mix guitars and other instruments with vocals, solo, etc (along
with trying to remember to replace the batteries in the Pastor's
wireless, avoid feedback, turn on the lights, etc). He's coming along
though and does try hard. I most often play solo, instrumental pieces.
Occasionally accompany a vocalist and/or piano.I'm thinking about ditching the amp and going straight into the PA.
There are a couple of tricks to this though. First, I'd like to have
the ability to add just a hint of chorus and reverb (especially with
the 614), so I'll need some kind of box to do that. I'd like to go a
step above the common (sometimes) "cheap" pedals many electric players
use (I used to have a bunch of that stuff). I also wonder if I need
some kind of direct box like a Highlander or Baggs Para DI. Now, to
compound the question / opportunity further, I want this system to
sound great with the two Taylors I have (both with factory installed
Fishman systems in them) as well as with an ES (Expression System)
equipped Taylor - which I hope will come my way sometime next year.
I'm into a really natural acoustic sound, not an electrified sound.
Think about what a fine acoustic guitar sounds like unplugged - that's
what I'm after, only louder.I'd like recommendations on a chorus / reverb unit as well as a direct
box (if needed). Price might be an issue, but recommend whatever is
"the best", and I'll see if I can swing it or not. Thanks for the input.

PS - please keep our 11-month old little boy (Sully) in your prayers.
He's got to have some tests done next Tuesday. He won't wet his diaper
at night (but does fine in the day) and may have some kind of valve
and/or bladder trouble which would require surgery. He's a little
sweet heart (youngest of three boys), and turns bad days into good ones
for us. I'd really appreciate any quick prayers any of you might be
able to offer on his behalf (not to mention his mom's and my
nervousness about this).
