Strawberries

Hello Everyone,
Our strawberry plants are giving us quite a few strawberries right now. I
was recently told by someone that they froze their strawberries in quart
class canning jars. Does anyone else do this? I normally freeze mine in
freezer bags which I have to buy. I have oodles and oodles of canning jars
which I could use. This would mean that I wouldn't have to buy freezer bags.
Would this work for other fruit as well? If anyone has any knowledge about
this, or any ideas, please share.

Also, does anyone have any good recipes that use strawberries that they are
willing to share. My youngest daughter made us all strawbery smoothies on
Tuesday. They were so good. We tried to duplicate them yesterday while she
was volunteering at the library and we failed. When we ask her what she did
(we used her recipe) she told us that she used her nose to tell her when it
was right. Just for that she has been given the job of making strawberry
smoothies permanently!
