Hi Suzi,
What kind of plain people are you from ?  What community is your family from ? Perhaps we know some of the same people.  My son has lived in Amish communities in Indiana and PA.   Now he is in mennonite church near us . We used to attend a different mennonite church that was near us but it was not Beachy.
Its made up of mostly ex amish now Beachy mennonites.
