Tennessee

What I like:

     The state has three sharply defined regions:  East TN, Middle TN and West TN.  I live in East TN, where we have The Great Smoky Mountains,  Cumberland Plateau, and the narrow river vallys and heavily forested foothills.  The highest point is Clingman's Dome and the lowest point is the Mississippi River.....both of which I have seen and loved.  I love that country music orginated in TN.  I love that it's called the Volunteer State....where your neighbors are your friends.

  The state also has many sites of historic interest, including The Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson,  The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, Shiloh National Military Park, Fort Donelson and Stones River national battlefields.

  I love that many Tennesseans still derive their livlihood from the land.

  Tennessee has long been a major tourist destination, owing largely to it's beautiful scenery.  No matter where I may roam, it's always good to be back home in TN.  We call it "God's Country."   Come visit us sometime!

   WHAT I DON'T LIKE;

  Tax on the dollar is higher in TN. than in VA...just across the line.  Many people people go there to shop because of the savings.

  Many companies have not located here because our city wants to tax them to death....and many have left for the same reason.

   And last, but not least....gas always seem to be higher here in my region than anywhere else.   But all in all, I'm satisfied with where I live and don't plan on moving anytime soon!
