Dear Hope Chest friends,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of encouraging e-mails this morning.  It is like manna to my soul.  I do wonder sometimes whether to continue publishing the Hope Chest.  I love doing it, but sometimes question whether it is making a difference of not.   Many of you have told me that it does, and I appreciate that.

Several of our faithful readers have also reminded me that Mrs. Forder has not been proven guilty yet.  I do hope she is innocent, but that doesn't make the whole situation go away.   Yet God is sovereign still.

I do have a piece of good news!  My web site http://www.thehopechest.net is back up!  The domain name had expired while our wonderful webmistress, Susie Fleenor, was out of town taking care of a sick aunt.  She had it back up in a flash by this morning.  Thanks, Susie!

I have also sent a request to the HomeSchoolBlogger administrator to remove the affected posts, since I still can't seem to log in correctly to do it myself.

Please continue to pray for the Walley family in Gainesville, as they now have three boys with respiratory infections.  Luke has tested positive for a staph infection, but it is responding to antibiotics.   His recovery will probably take quite a while.

Also, please pray for me as I prepare to speak for a small local home school support group next week, and a larger one out of town in October.  My heart is not to point people to ME and the way I do things, but to how God would lead their own families in home education.   More specifically, I want to encourage the moms in their own spiritual journeys because we can't give away what we don't have ourselves!  As a mom, especially in this day and age,  I see how much I need the mercy, grace, hope, and truth that only God can provide.

Blessings,
Virginia Knowles

P.S. We did fine with Tropical Storm Ernesto.  We got a lot of great rain, but no wind, no power outages, and no damage.  I hope that the mid-Atlantic states are spared as well!
