The weight of this word was heavy upon me, but as I shared it I
realised it was for a broader audience too.As I pondered what God was doing in the earth, I thought back to a
recent encounter with God. In November 2004, during a time of
great sickness and being bed-ridden, I was caught up to heaven.
Many things were said during that time, but I saw five movements in
the "earth opera" which bear telling at this time:1. There is a movement from fishing to hunting.
Jeremiah 16:14-16, "I am now sending for many fishermen, says
the LORD, and they shall catch them; and afterward I will send for
many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and
every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks." The day of the
fisherman is passing, the day of the hunter is here.Paul demonstrated a hunter approach
· To the Jews in the Synagogue (Acts 9:30);
· To the Greeks in the Areopagus (Acts 17:22);
· To the Romans in Ephesus (Acts 26:1).Hunting means you must come into the environment of those you
pursue. You can not sit on the banks of the river and cast the net in.
You must enter the world the catch live in. God is moving on
marketplace ministry. I have seen this in Zambia, Malawi, the USA
and Australia.2. There is a movement from majestic ships to small boats
Isaiah 33:20-23, "There [in Zion] the LORD in majesty will be for us
a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars can
go, nor majestic ship can pass by". In the last days God is not
going to allow two kinds of church:· Majestic ships, full of weaponry and soldiers for their cause -
money in the boat and for the captain.
· Galley's with oars, full of slaves under the decks serving to the
beat of the drum. The day of marching to the beat of one pastor's drum is over. The
day when we yield our passions to one local body, and do what
the pastor says is over. Leaders across the body must adapt to the
fact that it is our job to raise others up. We are here to release, to
discover what is in the heart of the people. The day of the famous vessel, bringing gold and wealth into the
house of one man or ministry is quickly passing. The early church
brought wealth to the feet of the apostles, yes that's true. But it
was distributed to each as they had need. When was the last time
you saw a famous TV ministry distribute it's wealth to the needy?
If they believed so strongly in their own prosperity message, or
reaping and sowing, don't you think they themselves would be doing
more sowing?3. There is a movement from religion to righteousness
Jeremiah 22:1-5, "Go down to the house of the King of Judah. to he
who sits on the throne of David. act with justice and righteousness,
and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been
robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and
the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place."God wants us to take real care for those who have need.
· If we obey this command, kings that serve David will come.
· If we do not, kings of a foreign nation will come and ransack the place.
· Is it going to be the world in the church, or the church in the world.4. God's judgements are in the earth
1 Chronicles 16:12-14, "Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His
face continually. Remember His wonderful deeds that He has done,
His marvels and the judgements of His mouth. He is the Lord our
God; His judgements are in all the earth".The church, and more broadly the Body of Christ, has entered a
strong season of weighing, testing and judging. The Lord is
watching our conduct - especially toward leaders. In the context of the fact the leaders are falling all over the place.
John Paul II is dead. Paul Cain, Darrell Evans, Roberts Liardon, Ed
Traut and many others have fallen. God is in the earth and how are
we going to take the "audit" coming up.5. God is underscoring fathers and sons
Malachi 4:5,6 "I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great
and terrible day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of
parents to their children and the hearts of children to their parents,
so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse."If you look at every reference to the "day of the Lord", or the last
day of judgement a few things happen just before it. The restoration
of all things, starting with this one thing - fathers and sons.Everywhere I travel, this theme is being preached and stressed. I
have written at length on this in my book, "The Spirit of Elijah" so I
will not repeat it again here. But clearly God wants the body to
relate as a family, not as a structured business.

"FIVE MOVEMENTS in the EARTH TODAY"
-by Robert I Holmes.
Recently I was asked to bring a message to a leadership conference
in Australia. There were men and women from every state in Australia.
The weight of this word was heavy upon me, but as I shared it I
realised it was for a broader audience too.
As I pondered what God was doing in the earth, I thought back to a
recent encounter with God. In November 2004, during a time of
great sickness and being bed-ridden, I was caught up to heaven.
Many things were said during that time, but I saw five movements in
the "earth opera" which bear telling at this time:
1. There is a movement from fishing to hunting.
Jeremiah 16:14-16, "I am now sending for many fishermen, says
the LORD, and they shall catch them; and afterward I will send for
many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and
every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks." The day of the
fisherman is passing, the day of the hunter is here.
Paul demonstrated a hunter approach
· To the Jews in the Synagogue (Acts 9:30);
· To the Greeks in the Areopagus (Acts 17:22);
· To the Romans in Ephesus (Acts 26:1).
Hunting means you must come into the environment of those you
pursue. You can not sit on the banks of the river and cast the net in.
You must enter the world the catch live in. God is moving on
marketplace ministry. I have seen this in Zambia, Malawi, the USA
