Well before the day, his plan was clear:
Hide in a closet to pray? Not this hour!
This first petition the people needed to hear:
The temple as God's holy presence and power,
Israel's new place of pardon, to draw near.
The king mounted the platform of bronze he'd made,
Before them, he spread his hands and, kneeling, prayed.--
