The Children's Bread (Part 1)

Posted by: bneumann848 <bneumann848@...>

Also every sickness, and every plague, which is
not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord
bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed. (Deuteronomy 28:61 KJV)

Did you know
that sickness is part of the curse? The passage above is not in the list of
blessings to be inherited by the children of promise (vs. 1-14), it is in
the list of curses for disobedience to God’s law (vs. 15-68). That means it was
never meant for God’s people. Does that seem like a bold statement to you?
Well, let’s look at what God’s Word has to say.

And
ye shall serve the
Lord your God, and He
shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the
midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy
land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. (Exodus 23:25-26 KJV)

And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the
evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon
all them that hate thee. (Deuteronomy 7:15 KVJ)

Because thou hast
made the
Lord,
which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil
befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. (Psalm 91:9-10
KJV)

And Jesus
went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel
of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.  (Matthew 4:23 KJV)

And Jesus
went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and
preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. (Matthew 9:35 KJV)

And when he
had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean
spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. (Matthew 10:1 KJV)

Speaking of
healing in Matthew 15, Jesus calls it the “children’s bread.” He isn’t talking
about children in terms of young people, He’s talking about those who believe
on the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:13)

And ought not
this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be
loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? (Luke 13:16 KJV)

But he was wounded
for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of
our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 JKV)

Who his own self bare
our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (1 Peter 2:24 KJV)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. (Psalm 103:2-3 KJV)
