THE FAILED GOSPEL MEETING

What disappointment! Just one soul,
a child, a girl, obeyed the call.
With weeks of prayers and work and toil,
much preaching done -- results were small.
The visiting preacher later died;
in time, the girl matured and wed.
Her saintly sons preached far and wide,
converting thousands; the gospel spread.
Beware the thought of small returns.
You know not what the Lord can do
with loaves and fish the faithless spurns.
The Lord can do great things with you.
