It is impossible for a person to be His sheep without believing His Word. When it is all said and done, true believers embrace God's words (the proximate object of faith) as well as His person (the ultimate object of faith). A person who disbelieves the Bible may never rightly be considered a Christian.

The first book I remember reading

was one called "Tall and Proud". I think I was in 6th grade at the time. It was about a girl who contracted polio. Her parents bought her a horse, which was the catalyst in her recovery from the disease.

I actually found a used copy of the book and bought it for my daughter to read. She wasn't as impressed with it as I was. 🙁
