THE GREEN OF IRELAND
by J. Randal Matheny

Again the Green of Ireland gleams,
St. Patrick's Day calls forth the sheen;
A piece of cloth for Irish dreams,
And leprechauns that dance unseen.

A time to tell outlandish tales,
With mirth and laughter, come what may,
By verdant joys the sadness pales --
We all are Irish on this day.
