The Guardian

Well, I finished The Guardian this morning. I would have finished sooner, but
life has a way of interrupting my reading! This was a great book -- as was
its predecessor The Negotiator. I liked seeing the familiar characters from
the O'Malley family and friends.

Dee wrote a note yesterday telling about the book, but I will repeat a bit --
in case y'all missed it! A federal judge has been murdered and there is a
witness. Marcus O'Malley, U.S. Marshal extrodinaire, is on the case --
working to solve and murder and protect the witness and along the way lots
happens! It seems trite to say they find love along the way -- I mean they do
and that really isn't giving anything away -- you know from the first
encounter that these 2 will end up together, but there is so much more. Each
goes on a spiritual journey -- both from life changing events -- a recent one
for Shari, the witness and one lingering in the past for Marcus.

I love the way the physical conflict/struggle of the book twists and turns
and builds along side the spiritual cponflict/struggle. And I love how it is
resolved, but I cannot share my thoughts there without revealing to much!
soooo I will save those comments for Dee's eyes only!

You could read The Guardian without reading the Negotiator first -- there is
enough of fill you in on the basics, but you would be denying yourself the
real feel of knowing the characters. SO if you haven't read The Negotiator --
get it and The Guardian and read them -- in order!

Oh yes -- and finally -- my Mom read this first -- she commandeered it from
me! and she loved it. I mentioned that Dee was on my Christianbooks list and
she (Mom) insisted that I tell her how much she enjoyed the book -- so Dee --
my Mom loved it! There, I have been a good daughter -- today!

Now what shall I read.... think I will pull out a Cheryl Wolverton book that
has been sitting under the bed (my treasure trove!) waiting to be read!

Happy Reading! Barb C.
