The remission of sin proceeds from the passive obedience of Christ, His offering up of Himself as the propitiation for our sins. Christ's active obedience provides that righteousness which constitutes the believer righteous. It is human righteousness. The incarnation was essential. As man he lived out righteousness for us throughout his life on earth.

A true account as told by a friend's grandson, Michael:

Sometimes Michael doesn't hear things quite the way his Sunday school teacher
tells it ---- at least we hope that's the case.

"There was this king and he didn't have a life. So 'this' man got him a life
and she became the queen. Her name was Esther. Then there was a bad man
(Haman -- he couldn't remember his name) who wanted to kill all the Juices.
Esther's cousin told the king and so the king stopped the bad man from
killing all the Juices and the bad man got killed and the king got a life."
