The tactics of the tempter
Genesis 3.1-15 'Hath God said, Ye shall not ... ?'
A. The element of doubt
(a) He tries to get us to doubt the goodness of God.
(b) He tries to get us to doubt the guilt of sin.
B. The element of denial
(a) It was a denial which was blatant: 'Ye shall not surely die.'
(b) It was a denial which was believed.
C. The element of deceit: 'Ye shall be as gods'
(a) How attractive sin was made to look - 'pleasant to the eyes'.
(b) How deceptive sin was found to be - 'they hid themselves
