The TEXAS EXPERIENCE!

A lot of people ask what my sense of things is right now. "What is
the Lord saying to you?", etc. I have to tell you - the overwhelming
sense I have right now is this- "REVIVAL IS COMING!" That is my
overwhelming feeling. We have 'turned a corner' in the Spirit. It is a
new season and "REVIVAL IS COMING!" -Andrew Strom.

"The TEXAS EXPERIENCE"

People have been writing to me asking how Dallas went. Below
are a number of emails I received from people who were there.
Again, we ourselves learned a great deal from the weekend.
One reason why I believe God wanted us in Dallas first was
because He wanted to build a TEAM for the future. The brothers
that we ministered with down there I'm sure we will hook up with
again. Along with David Kirkwood, who preached powerfully as
always, there was Rod Brewer who preached one of the most
"fiery" messages I have ever heard, and Aaron Pierson whose
whole life is devoted to ministering the LOVE of Christ! There
was a kind of 'apostolic' balance, and everything flowed together.
I know the word "apostolic" is a much misused term. But I
want to very deliberately put it forward to describe the feeling
I had when this team was flowing together the way it did. -That
is the word that came to my mind continually. (-Take this comment
how you like. It was simply the way I felt and still feel). Both of
the Conferences so far have had this very special feeling to them
that I have not experienced before.
Another speaker, Darren Smith, was an ex-drug addict who leads
a team feeding 300+ street people in Galveston - plus many other
outreaches. In June we will be joining him - holding a "John the
Baptist" Conference under a big tent (!) in Galveston - right where
they feed and minister to people. It will be the first time that one
of these 'JTB' events will be ministering to both Christians and street
people at the same time! (-Information on this to follow later).
For the first time, in Texas we also had a 'Facilitators' meeting
which was very well attended. So we now have the beginnings of
a network of wonderful people in Texas who want to meet and pray
with others. Also, there are now plans to hold regular "John the
Baptist" gatherings once a month in Dallas.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend. Below is some of the feedback

I have to say that, having grown up in church, I've been in many
conferences. However, I don't think I've ever been in one as amazing
as this one. I can't say it was a life-changing experience, because
my life had already changed before the conference, but it was a
me-changing conference. I am definitely not the same person I was before.
There was strong preaching on repentance and holiness, and yet
there was also such a feeling of acceptance from everyone. It was
such a joy to speak with brothers and sisters I'd never met and feel
that immediate spark of connection.... My conference buddy Cheryl
and I plan on assisting Darren and Michelle Smith in their Galveston
street ministry. In addition, Darren seemed very willing to help us
plant a house church in our area, which we are very excited about.
One thing that was very encouraging to me was the number of young
people there. It was so good to know that many of my generation
are concerned about the same things I am. One of the ladies who
sat behind me Saturday evening informed me that God told her two
years ago He was raising up a "Joshua Generation" of young adults,
and she said the number of young people there confirmed those words for her.
...On the way home from the conference. Shortly after we got on the
road, I realized my contacts were fuzzy from all the crying I'd been doing ....

Thankyou so much for coming to Dallas and encouraging us to strive
for the narrow path. All the teachings were so right on with God's
heart! Though I knew most that was taught I was very convicted
because I didn't walk in what has been taught to me before by the
Holy Spirit..... you preached much of what I needed to hear. That's
what happens when we gather together in Christ. We minister to
each other without knowing it and our desire was to just aim for Christ.

I just wanted to let you know how much I really enjoyed the Texas
conference. I have been a member of this list for a long time, even
before you took it over, so long in fact that I don't even remember
how the Holy Spirit led me to you! 🙂 It has always given me a
"now" word and helped me to realize that I am not alone in the things
the Father has been showing me. But this conference brought it all
home! I have been wondering why there are not more dedicated
Christians and feeling like I am judging when I look at their life and
don't see the fruit of a born again experience - yet they say they love
Jesus and have askedhim into their heart. Well I understand now....
This was a real eye opener for me. Thank you and your family and
each of you who gave of yourselves for this conference....

and seek His face. God is moving in a mighty way not only in my
life, but the fire is spreading to many others - like you said, dry
tenders that are primed to be set ablaze.

Be encouraged, my friends. God is moving. I hope you are seeing
signs of it where you are. People that I talk to all over the country
are reporting a tremendous "expectancy" this year. Something has
changed. I truly believe we have entered a new season.
