The thrilling Song, still left to Sing.
I want to Buy, but trash the Bought;
For joy to Catch, I drop the Caught;To run, I rue the straightened Race,
Pursue on wooden feet the Chase;
I want the Ripe without the Rot,
To eat the Fruit with seedless "Not."But comes to mind the ironclad Rule,
To not play God for heaven's Fool,
By self-delusion the sinner weeps:
