THEN CAME THE DAWN

Matthew 28:1 In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the
first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the
sepulchre.

1Cor. 15:13-28 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is
Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain,
and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God;
because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not
up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not
Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet
in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the FirstFruits
of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the
resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall
all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the FirstFruits;
afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he
shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have
put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he
hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed
is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all
things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all
things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall
the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that
God may be all in all.

Saints of all ages waited with great anticipation
for this event.

1. Job 14:14 –"If a man die shall he live again?

2. David speaking of
his dead son said, "But now he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him
back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me." 2Sam 12:23

3. Psa 17:15 - "I shall be satisfied when I behold thy face."

4. Dan 12:2 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life and others to shame and everlasting contempt."

5. Paradise was to be
moved, all heaven waited.

6. All hell was alert
with its demons on guard–His would be killers said, "Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive,
After three days I will rise again. {64} Command therefore that the sepulcher
be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal
him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error
shall be worse than the first. {65} Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go
your way, make it as sure as ye can."
(Mat 27:63-65)

7. Now let us take a
sweep out through the planetary heavens, Angelic hosts, eyes firmly fixed --
Stars and Planets - Watchers, everlasting sentinels.

8. Rom 8:18-25 – All
creation was groaning, waiting for deliverance, the entire human race was lost,
but now stood on the threshold of an event that would revolutionize the social
order of a Roman world.

Waiting for an event
that would erase a pagan philosophy of fear, hate, dread and superstition, and
inspire faith and generate hope in the hearts of the generations of mankind
that would follow.

9. Men of all ages
stood on the brink of a yawning, gaping abyss, Isa. 5:14 says, "that
HELL hath enlarged itself,"
with only one hope – THAT HE RISE.

10. Now take a
position near the tomb and see what happens next.

11. All Jerusalem was
in an uproar, the high priests, rabbis, Roman Legions and       their followers standing guard over an
impeached civilization – HE MUST RISE.

12. Many, dying,
longed for this day –

John 8:56  Your father Abraham
rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

Mat. 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous
men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and
to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Heb. 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but
having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and
confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

13. It was a day that
would change thinking, conduct and philosophy.

14. It was a day that
would determine the destiny of all mankind.

15. The soft south
wind blowing over the Judean hills came WHISPERING HOPE to the downtrodden
people – Israel.

16. Here we stand on
the threshold of a new era.

17. The stars are yet
visible over the hills of Bashan. Then we look east, toward the Syrian Desert,
and beyond to the land of the Chaldees.

18. Then CAME THE
DAWN --

a. two shining ones
appear – Luke 24:4 And it came to pass,
as they were much perplexed there-about, behold, two men stood by them in
shining garments.

   b. they are descending with power.

   c. they are on a mission -- WHAT IS IT?

d. all that were
there said the earth shook as a thing unsteady.

e. the shining ones
stop at the tomb, the Roman seal is broken, the one held by the cold iron bars of death is loosed!

18. LOOK!  He has the keys of death [takes captive]
and hell [holds them], all power is given Him in heaven and earth –
Matthew 28:18 And
Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven
and in earth..

WHO IS HE?

Not the Babe of
Bethlehem! The one Herod tried to kill.

Not "the Lamb brought to slaughter"
as Isa. 53:7 describes.

Not "the Lamb slain from the foundation of
the earth," as in Rev.
13:8.

WHO IS HE?

Malachi 4:2
gives insight, “But to you that fear My
Name THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall arise with healing in His wings; and you
shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.”

WHO IS HE?

Mat. 1:21 calls
Him “Jesus,
because He came to save His people from their sins."

Mat. 1:23
calls Him–"IMMANUEL, God with
us."

Mat. 16:15,
Jesus asks Peter, “Whom say ye that I
Am?” Peter's response
rings down through the corridors of time…“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the
Living God!”

WHO IS HE?

Rev. 5:5 calls
Him–"The LION OF THE TRIBE OF
JUDAH."

Rev. 19:11-16 calls
Him–the "King of Kings and Lord of
Lords!"

Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in
righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every
tongue shall swear.—Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord,
every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.—Php 2:10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth;

WHO IS HE?

   IS HE YOUR SAVIOR,

IF NOT HE WILL BE YOUR JUDGE.

Rev. 3:20,
"Behold! I stand at the door and knock! if any
man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with
him, and he with me."

"HE IS WAITING
FOR YOU!"

Be blessed this Holy Season
