"THREE YOUNG JEWS!"

Posted by: Shalomyshua <Shalomyshua@...>

Shalom Mishpachah! That greeting means much in Hebrew! The word Shalom means much more than peace! When we say Shalom to a brother or sister you are wishing them well, that they would enjoy good health and they would prosper! Then add the word: Mishpacah to it and that Hebrew word means family it is pronounced {meesh=po=kah}. Families mean much to Jews!

Abram called later {Abraham} is often referred to as "The Father of the Faith," He is also the father of all the faithful Abraham's life is a testimony of faith. In the Brit Chadasha Book of James, chapter 2:23 Abraham is referred to "the friend of G-d." In studying this man of faith and friend of G-d, we find out that faith is not perfect character or integrity. Rather, it is simply taking G-d at His Word by obeying Him.

By doing so, Abraham became the model of faith for all believers! His life demonstrates how we benefit from believing and acting upon what G-d says, despite evidence to the contrary. To walk in the kind of faith that Abraham had, we must believe G-d's promises to us, and believe, too, that He knows how and when to bring them to pass. When Abraham tried to bring to pass G-d's promises by his own effort, there were serious consequences, {see Genesis 16:21}. This why it is so important to avoid striving to fulfill G-d's promises by yourself. Doing so always backfires and produces undesired results.

Your faith will often be challenged by fear of the unknown, as Abraham's must have been. And as ours is today, when we reflect on 9/11/01, and the thought of future terrorist attacks that might possibly occur right in our own backyard! But, Abraham obeyed G-d, as we must, even when G-d's direction takes a turn we do not understand. Remember G-d does not change! {Hebrews 13:8}. He knew exactly what He was doing in Abraham's life; and He knows exactly what He is doing in ours!

Do you remember the three young Jews, Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego? If you want to remember those Babylonion names that were given to them, instead of using their Hebrew names of Hannariah,Azuriah and Misheal; think of My-shack, your-shack and a bungalow! Just jesting, of course. Listen to their faith!

                  {" Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego~~~were cast into a fire for not worshiping a golden statue When they survived, the king freed them, saying:  "Blessed be the God....who sent his angel to deliver the servants that "trusted" in him." {Daniel 3:95}.

In the second century before Y'shua, Jews suffered a violent persecution under the Syrian tyrant Antiochus IV He tried to force them to give up their religion and worship false gods. Into this tragic situation stepped the author of the Book of Daniel. He used inspirational stories to assure his brothers and sisters in the faith that G-d saw their suffering and would intervene to save the nation at the proper time. He did for those "Three Young Jews," and He will do it for Israel and His people once again, but in His timing!

How do we motivate ourselves today to continue to maintain faith in G-d when He seems so far from us? By doing just what Joshua did: "Do not be afraid or discouraged for I, the Lord, your G-d am with you wherever you go!"  {Josh:1-9}
