I received my free bible studies from Lamp and Light publishers yesterday. The book is The Faith worth Dying for. Its publishers are conservative mennonite. Since I have felt the Lord leading me that way for some time, I was glad to get this. I studied my second chapter today. It dealt with how we are citizens of two governments and how God's kingdom has priority over the world's kingdom. They also brought up issues in that chapter that I had been struggling with. How as christians we are to be set apart from the worldly pleasures. In the Eastern world, Christians are still persecuted for their faith in God...here in America or as it says...Western states...Society and Cultural issues such as politics and education have become pre-eminent and are a trap for true believers. It even gave a list of what Christians do and don't do. Long have I struggled with getting Naomi to be more modest to wear dresses, to not wear makeup and nail polish. The Lord has convicted me on that today. I will be sitting down with naomi tonight and sharing with her what the Lord has commanded. Together we will throw it all out! The other 2 major issues are: Living on state aid and income and Education. My child should be educated at home. I will be calling Rod and Staff for their free book in 5th grade and their catalog. I plan to reinstate our bible reading at night...I'm still at a loss of where to begin with naomi in that area...maybe we can share my bible studies together although I don't know if she can handle it yet. I'm praying for the Lord's guidance in this. As to the welfare and SSI...I'm also praying for His guidance. I have been on it so long, and I do know that He doesn't want me to work. He has inspired me with George Mueller's faith and I pray I have the same Faith. Debra, you are on the right path...Stay on it. God bless you for your example in spite of the problems that you have faced.
I do know that He has asked me to go through my stamp supplies and stuff and see what I don't need to sell....and maybe use my talent that He has given for some sustenance. Pray with me....
