Tracey Moger and her hope for the future

Posted by: homenews <homenews@...>

Dear Hope Chest friends,

I briefly mentioned the death of Hope Chest reader Tracey Moger yesterday as I was awaiting more information from her husband Charlie.  I clearly remember corresponding with Tracey last summer.  She had such a heart for learning more about education and home organization so that she could serve her family more fully.

Here is the original message that Charlie sent me, followed by the one I just received this morning after I asked permission to send you more detailed information.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you of Tracey Moger's passing this past Saturday. A day after giving birth to our fourth child, Zuzu, a blood clot entered Tracey's heart and took her from us. She was taken quickly and without physical pain. I'm sure her heart wept to leave her four children and me, but her reward is beyond our comprehension. We carry on, secure in the knowledge that she is in God's embrace and that one day we will all be reunited in Paradise.

Thank you Virginia. That's a sweet offer. Tracey loved her children more than anything here on earth. It was her love of Christ that comforts me now with the knowledge that she's at rest in his arms, looking down on us now. I've been strengthened and fortified through the power of prayer of generosity of people known and unknown. My Tracey truly is an angel among us.

Her children are John Alex (8), Katherine Skye (6), Stella Barbara (4) and Regan Susanna "Zuzu" (6 Days). Your prayers for them are appreciated more than I can say.

With love,

Charlie Moger.

Virginia's note: In lieu of flowers, those who wish to help the Moger family may honor Tracey's first ministry, her children, with a donation to a scholarship fund set up to benefit Alex, Kate, Stella and Zuzu. Make checks payable and send to Moger Children's Scholarship Fund, c/o Southwest Bank of Texas, PO Box 27459, Houston, Texas 77227-7459.  If you would like to send a note of encouragement to Charlie, you may send an e-mail to me and I will forward it to him.

Dear friends, I do have a few more little comments to make.   Since this is Holy Week, I am going to be especially bold and forthright.  We simply do not know when we will die, so we must be prepared for this every day.   I'm sure that when Tracey went into labor with Zuzu, she was expecting a joyous beginning to a new life, not the earthly end of her own.   But even though she did not know this, she was still ready for it.  She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and knew that she would go to Heaven to be with him forever because she had already trusted in him for her salvation.  We can each have the same confidence if we know Christ in this way.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

"... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood."  Romans 3:23-25a

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 6:23

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."  1 John 1:8-9

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved.  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast."  Ephesians 2:4-9

Please, dear friends, if you do not know for sure that you will go to Heaven when you die, don't put it off any longer.  This is not something to leave to chance.  We must each make the choice before it is too late.

"As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. For he says, 'In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthains 6:1
"Repent then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord..."  Acts 3:19

If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to write to me.  It would be my highest privilege to share with you about what Jesus has done in my life, and what he can do in yours.  There is nothing more important than this!

Blessings,
Virginia Knowles
