Traveling On Your Knees

<>< Traveling On Your Knees ><>

Last night I took a journey
To a land across the seas.
I didn't go by ship or plane
I traveled on my knees.

I saw so many people there
In bondage to their sin,
And Jesus told me I should go,
That there were souls to win.

But I said "Jesus, I can't go
To lands across the seas."
He answered quickly, "Yes, you can
By traveling on your knees."

He said, "You pray, I'll meet the need.
You call, and I will hear.
It's up to you to be concerned
For lost souls far and near."

And so I did; knelt in prayer,
Gave up some hours of ease,
And with the Savior by my side,
I traveled on my knees.

As I prayed on, I saw souls saved
And twisted persons healed,
I saw God's workers strength renewed
While laboring in the field.

I said, "Yes Lord, I'll take the job.
Your heart I want to please.
I'll heed Your call and swiftly go
By traveling on my knees."

<>< LOVE IS NEVER SILENT ><>

A loving heart, a gentle smile,
a warm and tender touch,
We give so many things in life
but nothing means as much.

A little inspiration
when someone loses hope,
A kind word of encouragement
when they no longer seem to cope.

A simple phrase, "I love you"
when no one else is there,
Taking hold onto a hand
in a little heartfelt prayer.

Love Is Never Silent,
It has so much to say,
And it is our greatest blessing
when we give it all away.

<>< In His Garden ><>

God looked around His garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine".

It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you the day God took you home.
If tears could build a stairway and heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk a path to heaven to be with you again.

<><  A Little Too Close Too Home ><>

Big Jack walked out of church today
fightin' back the tears.
Don't think I've ever seen him cry
and we've been friends for years.
Ain't sayin' Jack ain't got a heart
but he's stubborn as a mule,
and he's held a grudge against his dad
since we were in high school.

The pastor preached forgiveness
and he laid it on real thick.
Said, "Friends, sometimes the highway
is like relationships.
Both get lots of wear and tear
and sometimes fall apart.
Man repairs the road,
but only God can change the heart."

The pastor had a job to do
and I'd say he did it well.
If you could've seen Jack's heart,
I'd swear, you could almost watch it melt.
So, a couple hours later
I was not surprised at all
when Jack dropped by to use the phone,
had to give ole Dad a call.

Now Jack ain't sure what to expect,
so many years have passed.
Will it be a glad reunion,
or another bitter clash?
But one thing Jack is sure of
as he reaches for the phone,
that message from the pulpit
hit a little too close to home.
