Hello ladies!I'm finally getting to take that dream trip to Washington, DC!!! with the children!!!!!!!!! Doesn't G-d have a sense of humor?!?!
DH has an export conference to go to and work will pay for his tickets, our hotel, our rental car and all dh's food! Before the terrorism, we were looking for cheap airline tickets and hadn't gotten them yet. Since then, we've been waiting to learn if the conference would be held and how things would work out. Well, today, dh bought the tickets! So, we're going. I'm not afraid to fly, I'm not afraid to be there. If I didn't know this Peace, I would find it strange! Dh prayed about us going, he prayed about him going. He could have cancelled, but found no reason to do so. He feels that DC will be close to normal for us to visit. Crowds should be down (a plus for me), we're all flying together (unusual for a business trip. Teledyne usually buys expensive tickets and we get cheaper ones). So, I'll have plenty of help with the baby. We'll be there by noon on Wednesday and fly out at 7 something on Saturday. Not a long trip, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Now, I need some advice! What do I do while I'm there. Here is my list so far,
changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier,
the man rising sculpture,
the Smithsonian (I know, there are not enough days so see much of it, so what should I concentrate on other than the Natural History Museum)
the capital, if possible,
Lincoln memorial (I've always dreamed of going there!)
Washington monument and the reflecting pool
where congress meets (oh, what legislation do I need to see my senators and representatives about?)Gonna run!
