Update on Hope Chest prayer requests

Posted by: homenews <homenews@...>

Dear Hope Chest friends,

This is just a quick update on last weekend's prayer requests, plus a couple more.
  • Baby Alissa is recovering from her strep B infection and is expected to live.  She will be in NICU (newborn ICU) for another week.  Hope Chest reader Charlotte, who happens to work in that NICU unit, says that the illness was not originally as bad as the mother reported, but still serious.
  • My mother-in-law, Ann Knowles, has had some setbacks.  She has been in much discomfort, has had low blood pressure, and requires an oxygen tube and extra medication a good part of the time.  Please pray for my husband Thad to make good medical decisions on her behalf as he takes care of her most of each day and night.  I had also asked for prayers for a land development deal that Thad may be making for his mother.  The church has agreed to sell the property, but wants more money for it.  We will see in the next few weeks how things will proceed from here.  Keep praying for Thad!
  • Leisa Lee requests prayer for those in North Carolina who are at risk from Hurricane Isabel, expected to hit the Outer Banks by Thursday morning, but already bringing wind gusts.
  • Pray for Hope Chest reader Laura, as she had major surgery this afternoon.  She will be in the hospital 2 or 3 days.
  • Pray for the family of baby Zoe, daughter of Hope Chest reader Judy Cleve.  Zoe, who was 11 months old, passed into the arms of Jesus last week after a long fight with leukemia.   You can read her story at http://www.shesmiles.com
  • The Orlando area has recently been rocked by two domestic violence homicide cases, leaving a total of four people dead and two injured.  This is extremely disheartening!  It is all the more clear that whole families need to be reached with the good news of Jesus.
Thanks for your prayers!
