Future worry is overwhelming. There’s a reason. We don't have grace today for tomorrow. One of Satan's simplest tricks and most effective devices is to draw our attention to things we can do nothing about. There’s nothing worse than a crisis that can’t be fixed. If our hours are spent with thoughts of tomorrow’s problems, which are not accessible today and which we know we cannot touch with today’s resources, we are doomed to worry. And worry wears us out… [Yet] our calling is today. It’s not that we don’t think of tomorrow, but it must consistently be filed under “future grace.” The tide of confidence in God's sufficiency must wash out worry. In fact, it’s a command. “Do not be anxious for tomorrow.” To go there is to disobey a directive from the One who holds every moment in His hand.

Update on Knowles family housing situation

Dear family and friends,

As some of you know, we had planned on moving into a larger house this
month, but we've changed our minds! The pre-purchase inspection revealed
that the house in question needed extensive exterior repairs, and since
the contract was contingent on a satisfactory inspection, we decided to
cancel it. Thad and I are in full agreement that this is what we needed
to do.

Now we are enthusiastically looking at ways to make more efficient use of
the space we have in our current home. After all, it's a good solid
house in a friendly neighborhood! We also have some upgrade work to do
in various rooms, which needed to be done anyway in order to sell it.

We are trying to be prudent stewards of the resources God has graciously
given to us.

Thanks for all your concern and prayers for us in the past several weeks!
