Update on the Knowles family in the wake of Hurricane Charley

Hello friends!I wanted to give you all an update on our family after Hurricane Charley.
Our home in Maitland was in the direct path, but we did not have any
major damage -- just some shingles on the roof. Around us are lots of
huge uprooted trees and downed power lines. We still don't have power,
but some very gracious friends from church, who DO have power, invited us
to invade their house while they are on vacation. (Thanks, Rich and Mary
Lou Graham!) Debbie Klinect's family also offered to have us stay with
them, even though they don't have power either. We are thankful to God
for such kind friends. We were on vacation at Becky Kelly's condo in New Smyrna Beach -- also in
the direct path of Charley -- when the storm hit. All 11 of us spread
out bedding on the living room floor and waited it out. When we arrived
home on Saturday, we confirmed what we already suspected -- a
subcontractor had not finished the home renovations which were supposed
to be completed while we were gone. We can't return home until the work
is done, and that may be a few more days, depending on when we get our
power back. It will also take us quite a while to put our house back in
order, since everything from our living room, computer room, dining /
school room and front hallway had to be packed away. My computer is also
disassembled. I am using my daughter Mary's lap top.If you have sent in a book order and haven't received your package,
please be patient! One to Cheryl S. was returned to me, and other
orders were just received in a pile of mail that Thad picked up at the
post office. I can't do much of anything until my computer is up and
running, and, for Learner's Journal orders, until Digital Printing
reopens for business in the aftermath of the storm. I will take care of
these as soon as possible!I'll try to write more later. I am having major trouble adjusting to
Mary's computer keyboard!Blessings,
Virginia Knowles
