Well we have run into a situation. The place we want to rent was denied. I went to the management company yesterday and explained the situation with Naomi and basically was fighting for the place I want because my aunt/uncle is a block up from it, the park is nearby and I have 2 other aunts in the same town. The present managers where I live has badmouthed Naomi thus giving us a bad report. First ever in my lifetime! I came home and told Naomi and she cried. We have been improving over the past month but it may be too little too late. Keep praying please. We have established curfew of locking the front door at 9 pm, bedtime at 11 pm on school nights and on Fri/Sat at 10 pm and bedtime midnight. She is only allowed to hang around 2 of the most sensible friends I have ever seen her have in the past 3 years and they are over here pretty much constantly which is good. Better than running all over town. Mike is a steady influence on Naomi and Kim has a sensible head so they are good for her. She is on Zoloft to help keep her calm even in spite of panic attacks. When she gets a panic attack, I am instructed to give her benadryl which I have done. We want to get her out of Roseburg away from the city. Myrtle Creek is a smaller town and doesn't have as many distractions (Thank Goodness!)We discovered that the managers where I am presently are discriminating families with teenagers, minorities and people on low income. Many apartments are empty and more people are moving out each month. The Lookingglass Apartments are no longer on the Section 8 listings of places to rent.
The stress of trying to find a place, packing up, waiting on red tape paperwork is wearing on Naomi and I. We are both feeling it badly. Someone said Naomi might be undiagnosed ADHD. I hope not, but if so, then we need to do something about it. I plan to stop and talk to her doctor next week and ask about the counseling that they supposedly set up for her to have them check into it as well as tell them about the panic attacks. Unfortunatly she puts herself into them with her paranoia about her father and other things. Praise God Mike is here and is able to talk her out of them as well as calm her down. My Parents and I are Thankful for Mike. He is also trying to get his own life on track with our help and is succeeding. He starts a job on Monday. My parental support group is crumbling...not financially but emotionally. I think I will need to find a support group of moms with teens who are christians that have teens that are NOT and seek the help I need. I do walk on eggshells around Naomi for fear of losing her completely but I have been brave enough to establish a curfew and stick with it as well as say no to a few things. She does smoke but is only allowed to smoke outside. I have tried to get her to quit and failed. So that I leave in God's hands.
Please pray with me during this time. I have already been having my own quiet time with the Lord lately and I need all the help I can get.
