Updates on Burnhams and baby William

Dear Hope Chest readers,
I thought you might like to see these updates on the hostages in the Philippines, and baby William Goforth in Texas. My heart grieves for Martin Burnham and Deborah Yap, who were killed, and Gracia Burnham, who was wounded in the thigh but expected to survive.

Gracia freed; Martin killed
SANFORD, Florida (June 7, 2002): NTM has received the report of Philippine military action resulting in the death of Martin Burnham and the release of his wife, Gracia. She is reported to have been wounded and is in a medical facility in Zamboanga. The Filipina nurse Deborah Yap is also reported killed.
Philippine President Arroyo along with the US Ambassador has confirmed these reports with the families.
Our hearts are heavy over the loss of Martin and Deborah. We are grateful for Gracia's survival and we ache for her, their children and the rest of the families.
The NTM crisis team in Manila has received confirmation of this information from the US Embassy, but many of the details are unavailable at this time.
We will continue to issue updates as information becomes available.
We know your hearts are also saddened by this report and we ask that you be in prayer for Gracia, the children, the rest of the families and for the family of Deborah Yap.

I tried to paste in the Vision Forum e-mail about preemie baby William Goforth, but couldn't do it. The bottom line is, at age 4 1/2 months, he went home with his Daddy and Mommy on Monday! He still has a detached retina, and needs some oxygen, as of the last report I had seen. You can get more information at:

I finished the Common Sense Excellence book yesterday, and I am making the master copy to take to the printer later this morning. Thank you for your prayers! There is no way I could have got through the last week without them. Please keep praying for us!
