Dear Friends and "Shoulder To Shoulder" partners:

I just received a letter from a good missionary friend who lives in one of the "hot spots" of an unnamed region under strong Muslim fundamentalist influence and attack. Cities in and around them have been in the news often in recent months.

In that letter, our friends requested urgent prayer support for tomorrow. Would you please pass this on to as many believers as you can? Perhaps gather some friends together to pray as well.

The Muslims in their region will end Ramadan at evening (around noon our time in Central Time Zone), and will begin asking God to reveal Himself during this "Night Of Power".

Our prayer storm can make a major difference in the hearts of hundreds of thousands of Muslims around the world, so that they could actually meet the One true God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

God spoke through dreams before, and still does. Let's beseech Him to do it again in dramatic fashion tomorrow and the following days.

$10 slipped into an envelope, 31 years ago, is still planting seeds my grandmother could only have imagined. Gently tucking that bill inside our wedding card, she wrote, "for your first Christmas nativity set." Each year it sits under our tree, warmly lit by a small yellow light-it's the only gift under our tree-His gift, the promise of Life. Our little friends couldn't help but notice it.

Sure wish you could have seen their six wide eyes as they came through our door. We were right in the middle of hanging ornaments on the tree when they walked in. "What are you doing?!" "We're getting ready for a Birthday Party!" "Whose birthday is it?" "It's J's!" "Can we help?"

One boy reached for a tiny ornament-a miniature nativity set from Thailand. "This ornament is the most special of all. It tells the same story as this nativity set under our tree." Granny's gift to us, for our first Christmas, continues to share His story with ones who have never heard. They had never heard of the star, the angels, the shepherds, the wise men, or the Baby. They are hearing for the first time. The seed are planted.

Oh, that everyone could hear and respond. We would not be facing any secret society's useless harassment. Our people would not be fasting, trying to please and appease G. Neither would others be making sacrifices and bowing before their hollow idols. It all begins with pr.

We know you are remembering us, even in the middle of lights, music, and the commercial whirl. We know because:
1. G has granted us peace right in the middle of the continued confusion outside on our compound.
2. We have a gardener who we believe is able to stand against any pressure placed on him.
3. A young lady, seemingly a wholly committed Chr, is to begin working with us the first of February.
4. We watched as a woman's group, new . . . believers, sang and danced His praises.
5. [Name] was privileged to bapt. 18 new believers a week ago Sunday.
6. All has been peaceful during this month of fasting, and our colleagues north of us are safe!
7. We are to visit our daughter, . . . . at the end of this month (our third attempt!).
8. We are both healthy again, after several bouts of . . . . illnesses.
9. The radio programming is coming along s-l-o-w-l-y, but it is coming, as we say here.

Now, the most urgent request. Pr not only for the M people of our area, but the whole of West Africa as well as the entire world. They will break their 30-day fast tomorrow evening, 12 December. Tomorrow night is a special night for them. It is called "The Night of Power." They are seeking G and asking Him to speak to them in their dreams. Oh, please pr that He will truly speak. That He will reveal Himself. That they will hear His Truth. That they will respond to His Word. We know of several
believers who came to know the L as He spoke to them in a dream. Oh, may it truly be a night of Power and Truth!
