Washing by Water in the Word

Washing by water in the Word,
A man believed the message heard;
By morning's light faith moved to obey,
And all his sins were washed away.
What unseen power of blood to save,
That raised the Christ from a borrowed grave,
That by the Spirit a life is born,
To live forever the eternal morn!
That step into the cleansing bath
Begins the journey on Jesus' path
Of death's dark valley, where faithful tread,
To joyful tables of holy bread.
