What's Christianity all about anyway?
Quote from Shelley on May 1, 2022, 2:47 pmWhat is Christianity all about anyhow? Well I can tell you what it means to me. It is the greatest love story ever told. God wants to have a relationship with me. But I am not good enough to get close to a holy and perfect God. I'd have to be perfect, and nobody is perfect. If I get what I deserve, I'd die. But this doesn't cause me fear anymore. I don't have to live in guilt. Because even in this condition, God has loved me so much that He decided to do what it takes to have a relationship with me. Because of things I have done wrong, He needed to provide a way to save me. That way is Jesus. God allowed His son Jesus to come to earth, live a perfect life, and then die so that I don't have to. It would be the hardest thing to give, but He loves us so much that He did. It is a free gift that I could never earn, no matter how good I try to be. I just needed to believe that He did this for me, confess to Him that I am not good enough and accept His offer to save me. I did, and now I want my life to be a love response to His incredible love for me. I have a relationship with God! It is not about rules and regulations, it is about love and freedom, and trust in the God who loved me enough to let His son die for me. So now I want to know more about Him, and live a life of love to Him and love to others because I appreciate so much what He has done. And all the time I learn more about Him, and trust Him more. I still make mistakes, plenty of them, but He forgives me and loves me like a good parent loves a child. So what is Christianity about? It is about love.
