Where Your Treasure Is

Posted by: <@...>

But the time is come [But the hour cometh], and now it is, when true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for also the Father seeketh such, that worship him. God is a Spirit, and it behooveth them that worship him, to worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24 (Wycliffe New Testament)

The most precious thing a woman can offer her husband is intimacy. We sometimes call it her heart. Virginity can be stolen, loyalty can be demanded, but intimacy must be offered willingly. It will not be offered where there is fear, judgment or harshness. It can only be offered when there is safety and acceptance.

By the same token, the most precious thing a human being can offer God is worship. He won’t demand it; He won’t take it; He waits for it. Worship must be freely offered. Make no mistake – every human being worships someone or something. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:34) If the Lord is our treasure, we will worship Him.

When we worship Him with an open heart, it unlocks a portal, if you will, to His throne. True worship is face-to-feet with Him. (No, that is not a typing error.) Surrendering everything you are to His lordship. Adoring the One Who purchased you with His own blood, Who forgives all your iniquities, Who redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. (Psalm 103). Remember the cross and worship Him.

Take ten minutes and get alone with God. Get down on your knees if you physically can, close your eyes and stretch your hands toward heaven. Get your mind off of your own self-consciousness and turn your focus on your Bridegroom. Then open your heart to Him. It’s okay; He’s loved you since the beginning of time. You are precious to Him. In your own words (because that is what He most wants to hear), tell Him that you’re not here to ask for anything but His presence. Thank Him for saving you, redeeming you, loving and accepting you. Tell Him how much you love Him. Pour your adoration on Him. I double-dog dare you.

My Father, You are the treasure of my life. Lord Jesus, You are all my heart longs for. You alone are holy, worthy, omnipotent and omnipresent. I long for You like a deer thirsts for water. You are everything, and I love You. Be exalted on my praise and enthroned in my worship. Amen.
