Win 98/Win 2K Professional

Posted by: daveshoe <daveshoe@...>

I've got a lot to learn about Win 2K! I've never worked (much) with Win
NT, so I'm starting from the beginning.

I just built a twin P III 550 MHz system, 256 MB RAM (all I can afford
right now, but want to increase it), 20 GB Hard Drive, using the Tyan Tiger
100 motherboard.

So far, so good. It's up and running, though I haven't finished adding
several devices yet.

Here's my question. I'd like to temporarily install a FAT32 HD (the main
drive from another system) so I can copy my data files over. I know I can
copy the files through my network, but will a W2K Pro recognize the HD, and
be able to read it -- just long enough to copy the data?

Thanks.

And Jason, LINUX will NOT be appropriate for this application. It's an END
USER computer, not a server, so I don't want to hear how stupid I am to buy
anything Microsoft...
