Word for Today, Fri, 9 Jun 2000: Excuse?
Quote from Forum Archives on June 9, 2000, 11:18 amPosted by: masinick <masinick@...>
Dear friends,Have you ever made excuses? Excuses why you are too tired to
encourage your spouse, too busy to spend time with your children,
too busy at church to spend time praying or having a quiet time
with God?Well, if you do, you are not alone. Even Moses made excuses to
God. He tried to get out of going to Egypt to help out his
fellow Israelites. Moses claimed that he was not a good speaker.God told Moses that He, God, would supply Moses with everything
he needed. God tells us that He will supply all of our needs,
too. God tells us that, over and over again, in His Word, the
Bible. Can you think, right now, of at least one passage where the
promise that God will supply our needs is mentioned? If not,
may I suggest that you take some time - how about RIGHT NOW, and
read the Bible. You can find one online at
bible.gospelcom.net. I suggest you read Philippians,
chapter four. You will find one assurance from God in that
chapter. There are numerous others. Read them. Then spend a
few moments (at least) and thank God for taking care of your
needs today. He is supplying your needs right now... you ARE
breathing, aren't you? 😉Dear God, thank you for supplying ALL my needs today.

Here is today's Sound of Light Soundbite:Jesus tells the story of a great banquet in Luke 14:16 and goes
on to say that those invited began to make excuses for not being
able to attend. Do you know someone who gives excuses for
everything? Moses gave God excuses. I have been guilty of giving
God excuses. The only problem is that when I give God excuses
for not doing something He wants me to do, He may get someone
else to do it. And I will miss out. Are you making excuses for
not doing what God is asking you to do? Stop making excuses
today and do what God wants you to do.What is God saying to you?
How can you apply that to your life?
