Dear friends,

The nursery rhyme from Dr. Seuss suggests that we have to get wet
and cold in order to catch beasts. I'm not sure where that
theology comes from, yet there may be at least an element of
truth in it. I believe in order to accomplish anything
worthwhile, and certainly to follow God wherever He leads us,
things are anything but easy, comforting, warm, and dry at all
times.

Dear God,

Thank You, even for the struggles that we face each day. The
mere fact that You allow struggles indicates that You have given
us choices to make. Teach me to be faithful to You, by reminding
me of Your ways and helping me each moment of the day to be
eagerly obedient, even joyful in seeking and following you!

May You, the God of all grace, who called us to Your eternal
glory by Christ Jesus, after we have suffered a while, perfect,
establish, strengthen, and settle us. To You be the glory and the
dominion forever and ever. Amen (1 Peter 5:10-11).
