Word for Today, Wed, 5 Jul 2000: Why AGAIN?
Quote from Forum Archives on July 5, 2000, 10:18 amPosted by: masinick <masinick@...>
Dear friends,Have you ever noticed that the things that you like to think about
have a tendency to show up, again and again? I believe that is
no accident. As people, we can either use this tendency in ways
which continually cause us difficulty, and trouble those around
us as well, or we can use this in healthy, healing ways.As for me, I am far from perfect. I have so many things that need
change in my life that I have to be continually considering the things
that I have done, the consequences I have to pay for my choices, and
the things I can do differently. But I have learned to think about the things that are good, right,
true, lovely, praiseworthy, and so forth. The apostle Paul writes
about this very subject in his letter to the Phillipian church. (By
the way, Paul wrote that letter from the captivity of prison, yet it
is one of the most upbeat, hope filled books in the entire bible! If
you have never read it, please do so today, and re-read it often. You
may find it online at bible.gospelcom.net.To give you something to think about, what does Philippians 4:4-9 have
in common with the passage that Karen Weber shares with us, James 1:2-3?Hint: One of the common themes is a three letter word.
