"A Travel Agent" Wednesday

"A Travel Agent"

A travel agent looked up from his desk to see an older lady and an
older gentleman peering in the shop window at the posters showing the
glamorous destinations around the world. The agent had had a good week
and the dejected couple looking in the window gave him a rare feeling
of generosity.

He called them into his shop, "I'm sure that on your pension you could
never hope to have a holiday, so I am sending you off to a fabulous
resort at my expense, and I won't take no for an answer."

He took them inside and asked his secretary to write two flight tickets
and book a room in a five star hotel. They, as can be expected, gladly
accepted, and were off!

About a month later the little lady came in to his shop.

"And how did you like your holiday?" he asked eagerly.

"The flight was exciting and the room was lovely," she said. "I've come
to thank you. But, one thing puzzled me. Who was that old guy I had to
share the room with?"

"Biological Car"

Two of my friends, Lenny and Jason, were discussing the amazing advances in automotive technology.

"You know," said Jason, "cars are almost entirely run by computer. Pretty soon, more electric cars will be on the market. Before long, for heaven's sake, they'll probably come up with a biological car."

"We already have a biological car, Jason," said Lenny. "It's called a horse."

"Moses in Egypt"

Moses was sitting in Egypt and brooding, how terrible things were. The Pharaoh wouldn't even speak to him. The rest of the Israelites were mad at him. The overseers were even more irritable than usual. And so on ... He was about ready to give up.
Suddenly a booming, sonorous voice spoke from above:

"You, Moses! Heed me! I have good news and bad news."
Moses was staggered. The voice continued:

You, Moses, will lead the people of Israel from bondage. If the Pharaoh refuses to release your bonds, I will smite Egypt with a rain of frogs.

You, Moses, will lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land. If the Pharaoh blocks your way, I will smite Egypt with a plague of locusts.

You, Moses, will lead the people to freedom and safety. If the Pharaoh's army pursues you, I will part the waters of the Red Sea to open your path to the Promised Land.

Moses was stunned. He stammered, "That's ... that's fantastic. I can't believe it! ... But what's the bad news?"

You, Moses, must write the environmental impact statement.
