Delusional

The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will
flourish. There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way
of death. - Proverbs 14:11-12.

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly
shall perish. - Psalm 1:6.

Rayna Garrett had a frightening experience in Kansas City when a man with a
gun suddenly jumped onto the hood of her car. The man, 26-year-old Dionette
L. Price, demanded that Rayna, "drive". "Drive, or I will blow your head
off." So, that's what Rayna did; she drove. She sped up, trying to make the
man fall off, but it didn't work. She kept driving for two miles to a Kansas
City police station, where she honked her horn, and finally rammed a door to
gain their attention. All during this time Dionette was threatening to kill
Rayna. After Rayna rammed the door, Dionette fled from the police station.
He was arrested a short time later at a bus stop without any problems.
Dionette now faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and felonious
restraint. (Reuters 09.08.11)

Did Dionette believe that he was doing the right thing when he stepped in
front of Rayna's car, forcing her to slow down? Did he believe that he was
doing the right thing, when he threatened Ryana with death? Why would anyone
do something like that? The most likely answer would be that the man has
some mental issues. It may be that some how, this man believed that what he
was doing was the right thing to do. If this were the situation, you might
say that the man was delusional. Dictionary dot com gives these definitions
for delusional: "maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with
facts", and "having false or unrealistic beliefs or opinions."

Spiritually, there are a whole lot of delusional people in this world. They
think they are on the right path in their lives. Most of them don't appear
to be crazy like Dionette, and appear to be fairly "normal". These
delusional people live their lives as if there were no God. They live their
lives as though this world is all there is, and that they will never face
death. They are delusional. They are delusional because they know that
people grow old and die. They are delusional because people become sick and
die, or have an accident and die. They know this to be true because they
have seen it happen to people that they personally know. The Bible tells us
this will happen, "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after
this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)." We will all die a physical death unless
we are believers, and our Lord comes back first.

There is a way that seems right to people, and that way does not include
God, and that way does not include any thoughts about what will happen after
death. The reason it seems right to them is because they are delusional. Why
are they delusional? We are told this in 2 Corinthians 4:3-4a, ".if our
gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the
god of this age has blinded.." 2 Corinthians 4:6 then says, "For it is the
God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our
hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of
Jesus Christ." We who know Jesus as our Savior were at one time blind,
delusional, and walking in darkness. That was our condition until the glory
of God through Jesus gave light to our lives.

The only hope for the spiritually delusional of this world is Jesus Christ.
Let us share Jesus with them, and their blindness will be removed. Let us
share Jesus with them, and they will no longer be delusional. Let us share
Jesus with them, and they will find the right path for their lives. Give
them Jesus!
