When Two Agree
Again I
say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask,
it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are
gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. - Matthew
18:19-20.
I
remember hearing about my uncle, Levi Taliaferro, starting to attend a Baptist
church some 35 years ago. I thought it was strange and my family thought it was
strange. But even stranger was that they said my uncle had stopped drinking. I
didn’t even know he had a drinking problem but was relieved to hear that it was
apparently now under control.
Today I
visited with my uncle, and he shared with me the rest of the story. After a
church service he and my Aunt Bea went up to the front pew of the church where
Bro. Rowley and his wife sit down together and prayed with them. Levi said when
he sat down, he wanted a drink and when he got up the desire to drink was gone
and never came back.
Have a
problem? There is nothing like having a little
prayer meeting to change your life and solve your problems. Jesus says, “if two of you agree.” Get together with a friend, or your pastor, or
someone and pray.

Update: The church that my Uncle became a member of was Fairview Baptist Church
in Elk City, Oklahoma. It is the same church where I am now the pastor. My
Uncle passed away soon after our visit.)

God. Please pray for protection of our troops wherever they may be and help for
Americans and others who have been left behind and those who are fearing for
their lives there in that place. May God help them all!!

rioting, looting, wanton destruction, and the racial hatred in the USA and that
it will be replaced with peace and love. May God help the USA! Many prayer
