Jesus Wants You!

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. -
Revelation 3:20.

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will
raise him up at the last day. - John 6:44.

Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there
is no other. - Isaiah 45:22.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but
is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all
should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9.

Selma Elmore now knows that she is wanted. She knows for sure because she
waved a police officer over in a suburban area of Cincinnati, and asked if
there were any warrants for her. Most of us never have to worry about
whether we have a warrant out for us or not, but some people do. While I was
a parole officer, I would have clients come to my office for their monthly
report, and I would arrest them because of an outstanding warrant. The most
common reasons would be for failure to appear, failure to pay a fine for
Driving Under Suspension (or some other fine), and failure to comply with a
rule of their probation or parole. Since my office was inside of a police
station, I would open up a door to the lobby and invite them to enter
directly into the booking area. It was very secure, and there was no place
to run. However, it did cause some clients to miss their reporting dates
when they thought that they might have a warrant out for them.

Selma Elmore, after finding out that there was an outstanding warrant for
her arrest for failure to pay a fine related to a drug conviction, tried to
escape. She was captured, and now not only has a fine to pay, but also has
an additional charge of Resisting Arrest. (This story was reported in the
Cincinnati Enquirer.)

We may not know whether or not we are wanted by the police unless we ask;
however, we need have no doubt about our being wanted by God. God wants you!
Have no doubt about that! The Holy Spirit is wooing, witnessing to the heart
of every person (John 6:44; Revelation 3:20) of how God wants them. Some
reject that witness but their rejection makes it no less real.

It is not God's will that anyone should perish (2 Peter 3:9), and that is
why Jesus suffered and died on the cross as the "once for all" sacrifice
(John 3:16; Hebrews 7:27). If you have ever wondered whether you were loved,
or whether anyone wanted you - wonder no more! God wants you! God loves you!
All of the Bible closes out with one more great invitation, one last plea
with these words, "And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who
hears say, 'Come!' And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him
take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17)."

Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart, and He wants to come in. Don't
make Him keep standing out there, open up the door of your heart and invite
Him to come in. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and be your Savior and
Lord. Jesus will do it, because He wants you!
